In April, Professor Kim and two students from our lab, Song and Choe, visited Electronica China 2025, one of the leading professional electronics exhibitions in Asia. The event took place from April 15 to 17 at the NECC (National Exhibition and Convention Center) in Shanghai, drawing attention from industry experts across the globe.
Electronica China continues to evolve each year, offering diverse exhibition formats and cutting-edge technological themes.
The 2025 edition focused on several core sectors:
Professor Kim and the students explored China’s power conversion technologies, industrial automation solutions, and AI-driven electronic components, gaining insight into local innovations and market trends. However, the overall composition of the event and the range of participating companies did not fully meet our expectations. In particular, the exhibition lacked diversity and innovation, making it somewhat difficult to gain groundbreaking insights or identify transformative trends.
Nonetheless, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to experience the current state of the Chinese electronics industry firsthand.
It also allowed students to broaden their understanding beyond the classroom and gave our lab a chance to reflect on future research directions and potential industry collaborations.
We remain committed to expanding field-oriented learning and reinforcing the link between academic research and real-world technology through continuous participation in global industry events.
